STi seats are about the most uncomfortable seats you could possibly want for a 4x4. IMO.Mulisha wrote:WRX STI seats? Do they fit?
I wanna replace mine pretty soon but being a shorty then need to fold forward.
which is what a lot of people like.. nothing worse than being thrown around in the cab against doors and shit...Yom wrote:STi seats are about the most uncomfortable seats you could possibly want for a 4x4. IMO.Mulisha wrote:WRX STI seats? Do they fit?

You want a little bit of foam in a 4x4.. the WRX STi seats have none of this. They just clamp you in :p
Oh no no they hold you in perfectly but they've got very little decent insulation on them so there'll be alot more vibration and every movement of the cabin will be sent through your body.bogged wrote:which is what a lot of people like.. nothing worse than being thrown around in the cab against doors and shit...Yom wrote:STi seats are about the most uncomfortable seats you could possibly want for a 4x4. I had one of these and found it to be a fantastic seat. Only problem is. They have gone out of business.HIANUFGQ wrote:I have Aerotech seats in mine for about 4 years now and they are great. No wear and they are very comfy. They are over your price range, if I remember right they cost me about 900ea.
thats sorta where I started.sloshy wrote:Got ford au seats in my hilux.
At the jap importers the other day and they had pairs of seats( skyline, silvia etc) starting at $150, dont look to bad either.
I've got a Prelude seat in mine (haven't fitted the wife's seat yet, it's only been a couple of years ) and it's comfy due to it wrapping around your waist but it tapers in at the top so it doesn't wrap around your shoulders. It was the only seat that didn't squash my shoulders forward when I sat in it. Apparently they are not the strongest seat due to all the adjustment tabs but I'm 120kgs and it's held up to me bouncing around in it so far. Only problem is the foam lip that holds your legs in the seat has been destroyed from me sliding over it to get out of the car.GQ Bear wrote:How about low budget. just unbolt the sliders off the seats , drill 2 holes in the inner slider to match the threaded bolt holes in the prelude seat , the outer rail needs a spacer of about 25mm or so , a piece of 25mm box steel should do fine , and some longer bolts to suitJaffa wrote:Grave Dig, Nelso, do you happen to have any pics or hints on how you mounted your seats in your patrol, I picked up a set of prelude seats today. I havn't looked yet but some ideas of what others have done might be useful.

it is a very easy swap , although the seat does sit very close to the door
