I am interested in your thoughts on the 3 vehicle classes and configurations. The vehicle rules were drafted to intentionally open the code to as many teams as possible, not just those with big budgets.
Your feedback will be listened to, considered and incorporated wherever possible in the interests of promoting the sport.

It was basically just over a year ago i was wheeling in a stock surf now i will be competing in the open class in my "life sized re-mote controlled rock buggy"
What i,m saying is we all started out in stock or near stock vehicles so why not open it up for everyone.
Just one little Question RE: TRACTION.
I will be running locked rear but the front will be custom Traction control (set up the same as Sams) would this be classed as a form of locker.
Keep up the great work on promoting our sport.

The setup you have is considered a locking differential. You are correct in your selection of vehicle class, yes, you will be in the Open class.

Couple of questions.
Does the $55 entrant fee cover park entry from friday till sunday as well?
I will be trailering my vehicle up there and will i have to pay park fees for the tow vehicle?
For repairs on vehicles is outside help after removal from a course allowed? IE:Not just driver and navigator allowed to work on vehicle?
In modified class and open class you are not saying that rollcages are mandatory just that if they are fitted they must comply to XRCC guidlines?
Ps;I should be right for entry in production class RIGHT?

However, during competition, only the driver and spotter may work on, winch and recover their vehicle.

I will be running an exo-cage and therefore no internal rollcage.
The exo will be attached to the chassis in six points but nothing to fix the seat too, will there or would there be an exception for this.
If not i'm sure BOOTIE FAB can come up with an idea.

Any idea of what you are going to let run in the comp this first time. I think people are going to have the biggest problems trying to organise the roll cage, seat attached to roll cage and harnesses within the month. Most peoples rigs that I know of (that are keen to enter) have been specced up to run tuff truck rules which I beleive is need roll cage if no hard top and factory type seat and factory type belt.
I think the safty rules are a must for the sport but I can see I lot of people not entering this first comp given the short time frame to get their rig organised. But I guess, you gotta play safe.

i am worried that i will be limited to open class, although there is two rules i dont comply with currently for open class:
Connection positions of the roll cage must tie in to the frame of the vehicle at the four points surrounding the driver. Body mounts are considered a tie in point.
The front most position must be no farther toward the rear of the vehicle than 390mm behind the throttle and brake pedals.
The Cage must have a total of two spreader bars between the front main bar and rear main bar or halo bar.
Gussets must be welded in the four corners of the "halo" around the driver.
Magnetic, flattened expanded sheet metal, 1/8" sheet metal or 1/8" aluminium must cover area immediately over the driver seat and be welded or bolted to the four tubes surrounding the driver. Additional tubing may be used in place of plate steel or aluminium.
XRCC recommends a spreader bar to be mounted under the dash area to the right and left side of the front main bar.
Any variance of the above rules must be approved by an XRCC official inspector.
BUT it says variance can be approved....SO i guess if the cage is certified, then we are golden!

by relaxed, i think he means, try and get within the guidelines and maybe some exceptions, i think by next year i can clearaly qualify except i dont see how the front most point of the cage can be 390mm back from the accelerator HUH???

A Few ideas??
As this was one of the big sore points from other comps i thought i might rase it.
A sectioned off marshelling/staging area in which vehicles (& drivers) are checked (vehicle & equipment & driver - alcohol test??) and deemed ready to compete for that stage, no leaving the area and no-one is to enter. This would hopefully stop the annoying 15min wait between drivers even getting to the start line.
Another area of concern is the introduction of either the U.S style 1 - 2 Hour mechanical repair time allotment per day or the "Rally" style "PARC FERME" whichis also used in some ARCA/EROC events. This would involved the vehicles to be parked in a central marshalling, area after the completion of the days competitive stages and are to remain untouched until time commencement for the next stage. This format works exceptionally well throughout the world and create a more equal playing field for all competitors, not just the one's with a pit crew of 10 or a workshop "down the road" where a complete transmission rebuild can be done. This will even-out the more standard vehicles as they will have to drive within thier rigs capabilities, evening out the competition in the area in which will eventually become the basis for competitor growth...

Suggestions were only directed towards the event running smoothly, not the class rules or regs. Both you tony and adrian commented on the long time waiting between runs at TT due to the officials not getting competitors ready until the previous run was finished, instead of having them ready to go as soon as the previous run is over. I saw the officials check competitors on the line waiting, what a waste of time!!

How boring was it waiting fifteen minutes just to see someone get breath tested and then another ten to see them drive (and then another two seconds to see them winch).
The issue with the rollcage will take a while too sort i suppose, but why not bite the bullet, do it now close to specs. That way when you go though scruteneering this time you can find out if it will be fine for next year.
I think this is nearly the whole reason petes running this so we all know what to expect in regards to the quality and types of rigs that should be running.
