Outer Limits 4x4 Board

well after nearly completely dunking my tb45 today in the creek(just abit deeper then wat i thought!!) i think it may be time to purchase a snorkle i will be fitting it my self, im thinking either airtech or safari.who uses what with which engine and who can sell me one at the best price
been ringing around and some places want 450 odd...what a load of crap!! i remember seeing them advertised for 330 odd not 6 months ago..!

pvc pipe... is cheaper, and when you lean it against a rock or tree, it dont matter if it breaks coz it is quick cheep and easy to fix

no offence but i'd like it to look half nice..and i dont plan to be hitting any tree's soon!! already had the nice feeling of rolling my rig
i dont mind the smick stainless look thought but would prefere a pre made job!!

I agree has to look sweet, I didnt use stainless but that would be better. I just drop the old troll of at the zort shop for a while and he bent up a bit of 3" pipe, I made up brakets and welded them on and gave it a few glossy coats of black, cut a hole in the guard and lined the edge with the smallest loom tube and wacked it on.

Its only an old MK but if done right in stainless or painted steel they look great on any car and WORK like they should. Best thing mine cost about 100$ that included the ram top and a rubber 90de elbow.

Had safari on both Patrols, and they both look good. Not mad on the Airtech ones..

On a similar but different note, I've got a Safari snorkel, all good till today I fitted an ARB battery tray on the left hand side. I have to move the snorkel hose, need a bend to fit and extend the pipe a few cm.s. About 80 degrees should do it. Any suggestions.

Just get a factory nissan airtek more than enough what your going to need and do the job if fitted correctly. can get them here in melbourne cheap call blackburn 4x4 spare parts ask for sparky's

check ebay for good prices, I think Hobbzy sells em

I vote Safari, ive seen enought cars roll onto them, land on them, wedge them and there as tough as hell, maybe too tough as the car panels bend, lol

Ive got a 3" stainless, all up cost me about $200 and a morning to install.

My GQ has an "airflow" brand snorkel.

The fit and finish of it is rubbish compared to Safari or Airtec.

Out of those two though, on a GQ i'd go the airtec. It seems to have a larger body diameter than the Safari, so you could argue it will flow better.

But they could have new, higher flowing designs out these days.

LOL wouldnt be suprised.

Might rip it off and go with one of the stainless jobs. They suit GQ's and I'll be able to cut the pipe to location of the hole already in my quarter panel.

well well..the so called place to get a snorkle at a decent price was a bit of a myth!! wont name names but the cheapest i could get a safari was $414!
the snorkle can wait..
its haltech interceptor time instead

I got a stainless 3" off ebay last week for $200 for my gq.
looks good, tig welded top ,that is open to the back not front, and 2 rubber joins.
