CV or centre diff is my guess.

4 inch lift,i have a locker in there too. it started just bitumen driving to work and back. it didn't just start after i had been wheeling and is slowly getting worse.
i am pulling the cv's out to check them but it dosn;t sound like a brocken cv i dont think , i have had a few. i might be wrong. just looking for any other things it may be.

pinion bearing? Pull the shaft out and see how much play is in the pinion flange. While it is out lock the CD in and take it for a drive and see if the noise goes away, that will definitely isolate it to the front end. Other see Duncan at Top Cog and he might be able to figure it out as he is up the coast

air locker or a lockrite? If it's a lockrite or simular it may be the shear pins, when they let go they sound like a busted CV............
