Hi, have had a look around but I'm chasing straight answers,
I'm about to have a narrow track sierra and I want air lockers, the arb catalouge says they dont make them, can I get them if I change the diff centres, or do I need to fit WT diffs?
Thanks

Are 1.3 NT Diffs (complete) a straight swap for 1ltr NT Diffs?

If you have 1lt diffs you will have 4.1 centres?? If you change to 1.3lt n/t you will get 3.9 centres. Not much of a change but if your running tyres bigger than stock you might struggle to push them. Auto vits have a 4.6 or manual 5.12 ratio that would go lower then stock to make up for larger tyres or look into transfer gears cheap from the states.
And yes n/t and w/t centres are interchangeble but w/t had 3.7 ratio.

well while searching to find the answer above another question came up. Where do you source the vit 5.12 ring and pinion? Second hand or do suzuki still sell them? or Aftermarket?

does anybody know the rpm difference if converting from w/t diff ratio to n/t ratio?

or know the relevant info that i can plug into a ratio calculator so that i may investigate myself and report the findings?

It's less than 5%

NT 3.9:1
Wt 3.7:1

so basically it wouldnt even be worth the time converting from WT ratio to NT really

Nope, not IMHO.

Worth doing if your diffs are shot and you come across a good set of either ratio that are in good nick.
