TB42 Replacing mech pump with electric

Hey All, Ive got a TB42 on gas, when the system is switched over to gas it removes power from a solenoid in the fuel line just before the carb. I dont like the idea of the mech fuel pump basicly pumping against a brick wall.
Has anyone replaced the mech fuel pump with a electric one so that while the gas is active the fuel pump is off?
Im guessing the mech pump runs off the cam somewhere ? Would it be a simple job to make a plate to cover the hole where the old pump was?
Thanks

sounds like a good idea to me just make sure you dont put it to high' keep it down low so it dosent have to try to lift the fuel to high

this part is easy, I have done it for my straight gas setup. just trace the base of the pump out onto some 2.5mm plate. bolt ithe plate up wiht the original plastic isolator and some RTV with the original bolts.
Maybe you could use the in-tank pump from an EFI TB42 with a regulator to bring the line pressure down to what you want??
