hi all,
ive located a cheap 3L to hopefully replace my blown 2L,however the reason it is cheap is due to the fact it overheats.
Im assuming the worst scenario could be that it has cracked the head,if that turns out to be the case is it possible to put my 2L head onto the 3L block?
cheers
rob

Depends on how old the 2L is. The late 2L with Tin Rocker cover that looks like a 3L has buckets and shims as well.

2L (2) are interchangable with 3L. 2L(1) is not. (afaik.....i don't think there is any diff in heads between 2L and 2LT.

the car was built 12/83 so im guessing it has one of the earlier 2L's?
whats the easiest way to check whether the rocker cover is tin?
