You might be better off asking this question on Pirate 4x4 forum. Those yanks put buick V6 and chev and ford v8's in Suzi's all the time.
Almost compulsory in the U.S along with S.O.A.

Is it going to be in a Sierra?

I think the case will take the HP fine, a bigger concern might be the weight of the car its in. A big heavy car jammed up in an obstacle with a V6 on the other end might break the case through sheer force.

I agree an auto will help it live by taking out the shock loading.

It will need to be well mounted with a ring or mighty kong type mount to stop the torque load breaking the case.

Start with a case i good condition and ensure that it can't get water in it (breather) and it should last ok.

If it's going into something heavy I'd look at other options.

Steve.

nissan 720 uses a very similar transfer but has more reduction standard in low range. Maybe two 720 transfers would do the job for you.

i have a nissan 720 case here and was thinking i mightg try and run the patrol case and the 720 case together the rear output on the 720 actually bolts straight up to the input of the patrol case so drivetrain length should be my only issue i hope it works and should have enough reduction
