I have an 02 MK turbo diesel with 146000 on the clock and thought I better sus out the clutch. My bro is taking the truck up to fraser at chrissy, so I want to find out when these things usually die, so he doesn't get stuck in the sand with it.
Any tips or experience appreciated.
Cheers, BJ

How long is a peice of string???
In my 2.8TDI Paj I had to replce the ORIGINAL clutch at about 370000km, but it didn't wear out, it just dropped a cushion spring out and wouldn't disengage. Still had meat left on the friction lining.
Murphy's law said it had to happen with about 3 tonne of fire wood on the tandem trailer, up a long hill about 2km from home. Nearly got there.

not a bad innings Peter. I'd be stoked if mine lasted that long. It had a towbar when I bought it a year ago (so i'm guessing it's done a bit of towing already) and I tow a trailer for work, so it cops a bit of heavy work.
