Hey all i could use your help

went through some puddles yesterday and today.

basically the issue is that when i go through the bigger ones (the splash sorta goes over the car to give you an idea) the car has a very odd acceleration.
it sorta forms a flat spot and sounds kinda drowned but only from idle to like 1500revs and after that is fine, also the problem goes away after a couple of mins.....

any ideas?

Water on the plugs down side to petrol vehicle. Air hose and / or some WD40 you'll be up an runnin in no time.

yup and dizzy too .... I have sparyed my dizzy and coil with a product called "SOFTSEAL" we use it for sealing Telecomunication cables agaisnt water, Its like a very thin brown coloured underseal that drys a bit like the consistancy of latex, repells water like you wouldnt believe, I have sprayed the stuff over the entire underside of all my 4bies and have coated the dizzys, sparkplug leads, coil and anything electrical under the bonnet of my Fez and my wifes Escudo, i have also used these little foam gromits that we use in NZ to stop water running down pipes where the underground telephone cables come out of the ground to seal the tubes on the spark plugs they are made of the same sort of stuff earplugs are made of are abount 3" in dia with a hole in the centre of it .. you force the plug lead through the hole scrunch it up wack the lead on and it will expand in the hole and make a completely watertight seal

You can buy SOFTSEAL at electrical places like Rexels and Supercheap (NZ anyway) sometimes stocks it. the advantage with softseal is if you have to remove it a rag dampened with a tiny amount of turps will wipe it off.

with these mods and a snirkel fitted my wifes motor continued to run even after she droped her escudo into a hole on the beach and had the nose completely unwater up to the windscreen wipers... she reversed out and the motor never miss a beat

go slower....it looks good going fast but can do some sereious damage underneath.....watch your radiator fan it water catches it it can bend if it is plastic and make a beautiful circular pattern on your inside edge of the radiator thus causeing all the green shit to leak out....not fun when your miles away from home....been there many years ago......great shots though..
