Hey guys.
im building up my FJ40/hybrid for TTC08.
just wondering, i have an 80 series steering box. it bolts up to the 60 series chassis im using.
does anyone know if a 60 series column will fit snug in the FJ40, but more so, does the shaft coming from a 60 column fit straight onto a 80 series steering box??
or is there another alternative.
i have 80 series steering box, and diffs so they match nicely.
cheers

i think the 60 box has a forward facing pitman, and the 80 has a rearward facing pitman
this means it will steer the wrong way
otherwise im pretty sure it all bolts up.
If you have that crazy idle increase pressure thing going on just remove it, works fine without

rob im pretty sure the pitman arm faces forward on an 80 champ. eventhough the steering is behind the diff.

I'm running a 75 series column in mine, with a (shortened) 75 series intermediate shaft onto a 80 series steering box. All the splines matched no dramas....so I reckon the 60 splines might mate up....but will the 60 intermediate shaft will probably also need to be shortened. I've read that a bundy shaft if the right length to suit a similar setup to mine but.
Pics of my setup can be found here.
