hi guys

have a mq patrol. its spoa and is a ute and i am looking for a change and more flex in the rear.

have spoken to bubs and cheezy and got prices on coil conversions and they look like they will owe me at least $2500 engineered.

the spoa is engineered atm and i was thinking some custom longer rear springs and mayb 3\4 eliptic setup like screwy had to get some more flex.

wont cost much and could sneak it thru cause i wont stand out like coil conversion would.

the truck is just a daily driver and wknd play truck.

any help\ opinions would be great

it will cost you alot of coin n time to makethe rear of an mq work well with leafs.
get the coils n do it right once.

id keep the leafs up front tho as they can work realy well

al teirny has this setup in his mq winch truck n its awesome

Is this for one end or two, I would like to go leaf to coil on the Hummer replica, but I need to find someone in WA to do it

thats is for the rear end only.

leafs can not cost much at all to get working. just find something that has really long leafs in it and use them or get some made.

i dont think you would spend more than $750 most to get custom leafs and setup 3\4.

seeing that your is a ute,

Have you considered getting a rolling GQ chassis with diffs would be less than $1000 and just do a body swap..

this is running through my head atm. getting a gq chassis.

only thing is how much is say a 4 inch lift going to cost??

and then my mq has front and rear air lockers and its spoa engineered.

would you put it on a LWB chassis or SWB?

or get a swb and stretch it??? or LWB and shorten to make mwb??

also wont it be seen as a rebody and i will have problems at vic roads if i put my mq ute cab on a gq chassis??

How much effort do you want to put in? Complete body swap, or buy some springs, shackles etc for 3/4?

the body is off so thats not a problem.

buying a set of springs and setting up 3\4 would prob be the best atm cause i keep my engineers and my air locked diffs.

could always sell the chassis and lockers off.

but i dont want to have problems when i go to register it with it being on say a gq chassis.

Call a few Vicroad engineers, see what they say regarding the swap. I see a lot of work involved.
