Hi

This is a two part question for you Diesel Gurus on this board

1. I think it is about time to get the injectors and Injector pump serviced/ Rebuilt on my car. I've done a bit of a search around the internet and various 4x4 forums to find out a rough cost of getting this done, without too much luck. I realize that the cost really depends on where the work is carried out as well as what actually requires replacement and/or servicing, but can someone please give me a ball park figure as to how much the servicing the injector pump and injectors would cost me. If you could also recommend some good places on the north side of Brisbane QLD to get this work done.

2. i have noticed recently that upon startup of my car my oil pressure seems to be quite high. The needle on the oil pressure gauge on the dash rises to just above the 3 marker ( of 4 ) on the gauge and stays there until the car warms up to normal operating temperature then sits back at a bit under half. I haven't changed the type of oil i have used since I've had it (40,000kms ago & It runs penrite HPR 15) The oil and filter have been changed every 5,000ks . Is this some sort of common problem? are there any ideas on what this could be?

Vehicle Details:

1992 GXL 80 Series - 1HDT engine (engine is standard)
3 inch lift 33's exhaust. and 230,00kms

Thankyou in advance

Hi Nik .If the pump just needs an adjustment on the dyno ,they charge about $150.
I think the turbo diesel injector nozzles cost about $100 ea with labour.
Just ring around and see what prices you can get but I doubt they will vary much.
The injection shop I use says the Toyota 6 cyl diesels are a tight market and there isnt much room for maneuvering

The oil pressure doesnt sound too bad but you can only know for sure by testing the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge. It plugs into where the oil pressure sensor goes.

There is a test outlined in the manual

Hey Mate

I was also looking around to do all this to my truck as i had a diesel leak and it was also blowing heaps of smoke, Rang around a few places the going rate for the pump, Labour, Seal Kit, Re-calibrate, overhaul pump etc, $1800 which i thought
Injectors was up around $200+ Per injector as they are a double sprung injector not single. It almost made me cry, but lucky for me it was a slight leak comming from the dampener and the timing was out, now it runs like a Gem!!! cost me a carton of gold

Good luck and dont be too shocked by prices, but honestly shop around, but dont let some backyard bodge bloke do it either, ide rather pay the money once and have it work properly as soon as you get it back!!!

put a manual oil psi guage on it i put one on mine cause the guage was showing low oil psi but it would be pushing 40 psi on the manual guage just something to think about
