Front air locker

Hi all, I have just been offered a front air locker (no compressor/fittings) for $500NZ, so will probably take it.
Only thing is, it is from a Mu (mine is a 92 3.1dt Bighorn), and I was going to pay an extra $100 to have it assembled in its original diff, so I didnt have to worry about drilling/assembling.
Are the diff ratios going to be the same? (4.3????).
Also, I've been quoted $520NZ for the compressor/fittings which are 4 weeks away, and, just when I thought I could afford it, another $350NZ to mount and wire the compressor
How hard can this be :?:
If I have the diff assembled, would it be easy enough to fit the diff and compressor myself? I have a basic mechanical knowledge, but if it is an easy job, I'd just pay my mechanic mate to do it.

Cheers,
Dave

Firstly thats damn CHEAP! Definately to good to pass up.

All the newer Isusus use the same diff. The ARB locker replaces the entire diff cage assembly and the ring gear bolts straight on.

Even though its not an issue, are you sure that yours has the 4.3:1 ratios? My owners manual says that all diesels are 4.56:1 (4.555).

The front diff installation is definately do-able as my dad and I did mine to install the Lokka a few years ago. Was fairly involved though and you would have to be fairly confident that you could could follow it through. Be easy for a mechanic though...

The compressor and wiring/tubing should be pretty easy as long as there are good instructions. I would show you some pics of where/how I mounted my ARB compressor under the bonnet but the Jack is STILL getting fixed. :bad-words:

Well, I phoned the guy last night to let him know I was making the 4hr drive to pick up the locker today, and was told it was now sold
so I'm now back to square one.
Off to order a snorkel and set of new Tough Dogs to brighten up my day.
