I use Super Cheap degreaser, and then give everything a liberal coating of silicon spray and/or Lanox and then just wipe of the excess with a rag. The silicon and Lanox will prevent corrosion and make everything look shiny and new for you.

I've had that some problem as well. I cleaned my engine (alimumium) block with really strong degreaser and now it has etched into the head.

I then used a scourer to clean it off which it did, but now there's green scourer leftover remaining. It now looks like corrosion :?

I think I need to scrub of the green crap now.
