Converting to Gas?

Hey, just got back from a trip and im noticing that my 07 Hilux is a bit thirsty. (4L V6).

Ive added a Lukey exhaust system and K&N Air filters. Should this improve economy or make it worst?

Also, I was speaking to someone about doing a Gas conversion to it.

Has anyone had any experience with this particular motor and gas? Or any tips on how to improve economy. Im driving it normally, no stop start full throttle crazy stuff.

What advantages and disadvantages should Gas have over ULP? Also, consumption to the litre? should it be the same or what? Anything I should look out for if I get it done? and Lastly, will my engine live a shorter life?

Thanks ! :)

More power or less power?? I just went in and found out that the New motors have some weird new and improved sick ass injection system, so the conversion kit is completely different, therefore costs approx $5000 vs, the old $3000....

Also, valves? Usually how many k's would you get with gas before these start to go?

Most newer motors these days will use the injection system LPG. This will result in slightly more power than petrol and yes, the price of the conversion will be considerably more. However, $5k sounds excessive. I've been quoted around $4400 for my Lexus V8 LPG conversion. There are about 4 different brands on the market, 2 of which I've been advised to steer clear of, a third, whilst good is very noisy and the last is the one to go for. Speak to a good installer. If you're in Sydney, Premier Autos in Mt Druitt.

I would tend to wait a couple of more months till we start fitting liquid injection systems.
These systems far exceed anything on the market to date.
And there is a increase in performance in at least 90% of vehicles.

What do you mean? Wait a couple of months for what?
