Did you get the "cats" in the gearbox sorted out? :D

Discos are good but can be expensive to fix if you break something from what I heard.

Heh, "cats" still not removed Rod but have quietened down. Been real busy with work and my mechanic has been booked out for about 3 weeks solid. :bad-words: Cats will be removed though prior to sale.

Don't know what what I will be asking for it yet Manus but shipping it to Holland is a bit extreme don't you think???? :? Besides our cars are Right Hand Drive.... you would have to get a Left Hand Drive conversion wouldn't you????

Anyway, just wanted to plant the seed for when the time comes to sell.

Cheers

REX HUNT ON/ ~ "Yibbada Yibbida you'll be glad ya did ;) " REX OFF

But why a disco mate? I understand that they're cheap comparatively etc. but I'm sure you would have heard the horror stories. I considered one for a while but did a bit of research and was put off by the tales I heard :?

The one thing I always admired about the feroza was reliability. What other makes/ models have you considered :?:

A late model one would probably be OK- after BMW and then Ford took over and fixed up the quality issues.

If anything did go wrong I imagine it would be big $$$$$. I know they had transmission problems and English electrics always leave a lot to be desired!

Well people it's like this...

I basically want a nice comfortable car that has all the mod cons for those long trips and still use as a daily driver - don't intend on doing anything extreme in it.

Just basically want a tourer that will take the odd 4by track and that drives well on the black stuff.

Will be doing some mods but nothing too major ie 2inch suspension lift, some BFG all terrains and maybe a bull bar& uhf and possibly LPG.

The thing is my wife needs to drive the thing too and she has to feel comfortable driving it... the disco has been the only one so the disco it is.

I do intend on getting a post 98 model with less than 100k's on the clock and at a later date will be gettin' a swb Patrol for the thrashin around.

So you see people, there is a method to my madness... and as for cost of repairs etc..... all tax deductable.

But I tell ya... as much as I like the Feroza... the thought of plenty of power and cruise control just makes the decision to sell very easy.

Cheers

Sounds like you should be looking at a Subaru Outback or Forester- they'd both be perfect. An Outback with the 3 litre H6 engine ........ mmmmmmmmm ....... :D

As they said once in 4WD Monthly, "the good thing about buying a Disco is that is if for some reason the brakes stop working you can always run it into a tree... After all its just a Landy..."

Just jokes Paul... (but its there, I have the copy) Good luck wherever you decide to go!
