Gents,
Posting here for a buddy of mine that wants to ge the largest JTIIS for his 74 seires Toy (model number FZJ74L - 2003).
We're in the desert, do gearing and breakage not a major issue...
EVERYTHING is stock...so can we go 33-34 x 10.5?
Thanks in advance.

My mate had 33x12.5 on his stock 75s they scrubbed a bit.you might get a way with the skinnier tyre being 10.5,not sure about the 34s might need a bit of work.
And if your in the desert a fatter tyre would be better.

the 12.5 scrub on the inner guard, 10.5s in a 33 would be the biggest on stock setup. Depending on spring sag from new, even 33's may be too big.
with 2 inch lifted springs my 73 runs 33's no worries, except when i go to a 12.5 wide.

I had 33x10.5 BFG on my 73 series with 2in sag in the suspension for a few weeks until the new leaves went on and they never rubbed under moderate offroading. The 10.5 go pretty good in thick soft sand if you let them down to 18psi.

Thanks guys for all your answers.
We're looking into 34x10.5. I know that that is thin, but we usually go down to 10psi, so that helps.
Seems we're going 34x10.5x16 JTIIs.

my suspension is around same as what Rosco had, 2" sag. i have 33" x 12.5" and only rub on muffler just before exits to rear of vehicle. moderate off roading so far has caused and other rubs.
muffler is going to be modified tomorrow. hammer
cheeper than new suspension
