need help - HJ61 front axles heavy-duty

Hi guys,
As I'm not a Toyota addicted, (I own GQ's...), and I have a very friend of mine that has a comp car HJ61, here I came with some questions:
- what, from where and approx how much will be the front heavy-duty axles for this car? The car used to have a 4.0 diesel engine, but now runs a 4.2 turbo-diesel engine. The front transmision is still the same as for the 4.0 diesel and the axles from HDJ 80 are not the same as for the HJ 61. This guy is running 37/13/16 Booggers and destroyed already 2 sets of axles...
I can import the axles from Aussy or from US, but I need the place from where to buy it.
Any advice will be highly appreciated!!
If you have time, visit our's club' site on

...there are some interesting pics...
Many thanks, Gabriel

G'Day mate
I would suggest the US for tough replacement axles. You want to look for Longfields, Profields, Smurfs.
Not sure on price for you guys as I dont know what your exchange rate with the US is
But the longs and profields are competing pretty strongly with each other at the moment - -good time to pick up a bargain
Hope this helps some

Are you looking for axles or CV's. ??
Also it sound like he is running 80 series diff's therefore Longfields, Profields, Smurfs aren't going to work. These guys do not make heavy duty CV's 80 and 100 series.

Gday sounds like his 61 is all 61 except for the 1hdt motor and tyres to me.
BTW there is a set of diffs without centres in the 4 sales section suited for a tough truck lol

Thanks anyway!!
Well, we need the CV's, not the entire axles. The car is a 61, the engine is from HDJ80 (but actualy the 61 looks veeeery close to the HDJ80, if not identical...). The fact is that the HDJ80 CV's are shorter (or longer, I don't remember...) then the 61's (about 10 mm or something like).
Now: can we get the CV's from US or you know some companies in the Aussy from where we can buy its?!?
Again, any advice will be highly appreciated!!
Thanks, Gabriel

Are you sure you have 80 series CV. 80 series CV's have a much larger bell then a 60 series/hilux CV.
If you can source them from the US they will be much cheaper then anything you can get in OZ.

I am officially confused
Do you want CVs for a 60 series axle or CVs for an 80 series axle
If it is 60 series, see my initial post
Go the US option
I am not sure if there is much after market stuff available if you are after 80 series CVs

Guys,
We are looking for CV's for HDJ80 WITHOUT ABS sensor!! The car, as I said, looks VERY identical like a HDJ80, but the name is HJ61!! I'm not vewry familiar with Toys...
I'll get back to you with the Cv' description.
Let's consider we need HDJ80 cv's. Any source, prices, etc?
Many thanks, Gabriel

I don't know of any heavy duty CV's being made for 80 series. You can try
http://www.core4x4.com.au they may do them.
