2 Strokes

Hello,
What year and model were the 2 strokes? Are they any good or should I look for a 4 stroke?

LJ50 were two stroke. early 70's.. In Japan they got them till mid 80's I think. (Jimny SJ30)
Not much power but NO mozzies either. Scary on the downhills with next to no compression braking.
I reckon you'd be flat out finding one these days. Most of them seized at some stage due to the oil injection pump not working and we all know how two strokes need oil.

OK thanks for the info. The ones that I will be looking at are not that old so should be 4 stroke then.

Having had an LJ50 here's some observations....
1/ They are too narrow ( or too high. whatever ) and fall over lots.
2/ They suffered from inadequate lubrication to the needle rollers in the gudgeon pins
3/ The rusted really well
4/ 4 wheel - non automatically adjusting drum breaks are not cool
5/ man, are they slow.
Unless theres some emotional connection with a two stroke, I wouldn't by another one. Parts might be very hard to get ( speculation... )

OK thanks for the information, I have spoken to the bloke and he says they are 4 strokes so all is good so far.
I am after a bush basher for shooting and some thing cheap! So these seem ideal
