my gq drives fine in 2wd with no noises but when i put it in 4wd and lock the hubs in, under presure (eg. driving up a hill) it makes a loud bang from the right hand front and feels like it is getting caught on something then coming free, due to this the right hand hub got stuck on lock and couldnt undo it unless i had pliers so i just replaced it, put another hub on and its still doing the same thing but the hub is fine and i can move it from free to lock normally, i recenlty put a new diff centre in and a new cv in the right and new bearings so i dont know what else it could be..has anyone got an idea on what i should look at?

cheers kyal

Mine does the same, I believe it comes from piecing the hub components back together incorrectly... I'd fix it, but I'm replacing the front end anyhow.

when you changed the FWH, did you change the drive clutch that it locks onto aswell, cos after time they round off and with enough pressure they unlock with alot of noise mine was doing aswell until i changed them both.
