Bad connection somewhere on that side. IIRC the Toyos have a common positive and switched earth. First step to solving what is wrong would be to measure the voltage at all the pins in the back of the globe with the lights on and the voltmeter black lead jammed into the -ve terminal of the battery/clamp.

Looking at the headlamp back from the drivers seat there should be three terminals shaped like an inverted "U":

Left |, mid/upper - , right |.

Let us know what you come up with for each of the terminals when on high and low beam... as a guess you should have a good 12V on two connections and possibly a mid range 3-6 volts on the other one indicating a dodgy earth from the headlight switch, or if you have a top voltage anywhere of 8-11 volts on any/all of the pins then the problem is with the positive supply.

An easy and worthwhile fix would be to get one of Drivesafe's (Traxide) headlight upgrade looms and run the switching from the "good" side of your OEM loom. You then get the benefit of higher current capacity and a bit more voltage to the globes under load (ie less voltage loss)

Check where the earth wire for that light is attached to the chassis/body.
It could have corrosion or paint under it ....not giving a clean connection and creating resistance.
Just undo it and clean under it with wire brush /emery paper and tighten again. A good tip is to smear some petrolium jelly ..or ...even better....a spray with lanotec after it has been cleaned and tightened.
In fact .....as general maintenance...all earth leads and fixing points need to be cleaned right throughout vehicle periodically in the way I have described above.
HTH.

I know in the Hilux range, the earth is switched in the combo switch on the column. Might be the same for yours, but someone else should confirm.
