Howdy,

Firstly - I know jack about cars, so don't tell me I can do this myself - Trust me, I can't :-)

I have an 84 hilux. It's making a few weird noises here and there, and has a couple of slow leaks (one coming from the power steering box, the others im not sure). The CV's need doing too, they make a hell of clicking in 4wd. And the motor (VN Commodore EFI V6) is running well when warm, but shithosue when cold (sounds like it missing) so it needs a tune.

Question is; I want to take it to one place, and get them to fix the lot - don't wanna have to be running all over town dropping it here and there. Who's a good place for this (western sydney - penrith)? Or are there any keen mechanics in the forums looking for some private work!?!?! (pay well, beer, buds, cash, or combination - name it)

:-)

Brad

my hilux made huge racket in 4wd, clicking turned into clunking. turns out was slip joint on front drive shaft, worn to buggery :x

to check this Brad, just get under car and see if lot of free play in driveshaft, also check uni and daouble cardan as 4sum4 suggestion, could be those
