i tried to change my front rotors today, i got the hub off and undid the 6 bolts that hold the rotor to the hub but it is rusted on tight. how do i get it off? i gave it some good hits with the dumpy hammer but it didn't budge. it got the better of me after an hour so i put it all back together.
also after reading about the knocking noise in gq's i checked my body mounts, are they nut and bolt? i checked all the nuts and they were tight so i think it might be the rubber boot on top of the spring that is shagged. what is the opinion on that? they look (on the lhs) pretty rooted and hard. how much are new ones worth?
cheers

firstly with the disk swap. last time i did it we had to use a press, with liberal amounts od lube, ie WD40, we ended up having to let it soak throught over night as the 12T press couldnt budge it, after a good soaking for about 12 hours we got it,
as for the knocking it could also be a crack in the body, between where the firewall and floor join, if you pull back the carpet in the front foot wells, you should see a seam directly under the pedals, they tend to crack there,
i had mine welded up and been no dramas ever since,

i got mine apart last year by sitting the rotor on 2 pieces of wood with enough room to knock the hub down and of the rotor with a big hammer and punch ,work around the hub so not to bind it on the rotor, easy just done my mq the same . replace your shock rubbers and check bushs on front control arms at the chassis end if you can feel the knock under your feet , ive flogged out 2 sets of nissan rubber ones in a year , now got poly urethane old man emu in for over a year now

i think i am going to have to get a shop to press out the hub/rotor for me as i dont have a press, i tried using timber and whacking it with a dumpy hammer but it didn't budge,
i had another look at the bushes and they appear fine but im going to take it to pedders or fourby's (if i have the time to get it down there) and have all the suspension bushes replaced, afaik they have not been replaced ever and the car is nearly 20yr old. so i think theyve had a good run.

it only take 10 mins max to check the floor, for cracking,
i did as you are going to do, i started of replacing every bush in the front end, front shocks (they were shot anyways), all body mount rubbers, ( i think $600 worth genuine), then i found out the floor cracks at the firewall, at the time i didnt have a mig, local panel beater did it for a couple of hundred $$$ but i had sme other stuff fixed at the same time, so its about a $50 job if you take it in ready to wed or do it your self,
i really do recomend you check for cracks first,
