look at the pictures and you can see the problem, my steering shaft will run right through the tower, i dont really want to redo the shock towers.

is there any suggestions of another steering box that would mount to the inside of the frame, i am running rear radiator so room should no be an issue

or what if i notched the chassis to bring the steering box in closer to the centre of the car :?:

Just redo it.

Also what are you going to do with your inner guards? Cut them out?

Can you make a steering arm that has more uni's in it so you can go around the tower. Run three sharfts with uni's in between, and centre sharft supported by two towers that it runs through. The towers would have bearings in it and the sharft would run through the bears for support
If that makes sence.
Picture attached is just an example not exactly what i mean

That would work Dave but I think that would be more work and $ then just redoing the towers, by pic it is only taked on and I think it would only be a matter of changing the angle of the tower.

im not sure of this, but are all steering boxes mounted on the outside of the chassis rail, or is there a possibility of one being mounted on the inside,

possibly a steeromg box from the US? THat way you can mount it on the inside the chassis rail(if you have room between motor)

Bubs asked for suggestion and thats what is was doing offering an alternative way of getting around the problem.Adjusting the shock tower would most likely be the best option as it is very acessable. The picture was just an example, as i wrote you would be best to make two supports that the centre sharft would run through and was supported by, with roller bearings

A LUX IFS box from the states wont work even if mounted in the inside of rail as it steps over the rail and will put the steering sharft in the same possition

Toyota box mounts inside chassis rail, but input shaft is above the rail. Rover box mounts inside the chassis rail, but inpt shaft is above the rail.

Don't know about others but reckon you should redo your towers.
