A good rap for MileMarker Winches

just thought I would give them a little plug,

I bought a Mile Marker winch to go on my unimog a while ago but ended up getting a deal on a larger Superwinch.

I tried to sell the MM on here (and other forums) but didn't sell because lets face it they're not big in Aus, most fourby shops I went into didn't know what it was.

So I thought stuff it and ended up just fitting it to my 80series.

The mkilemarker came in an opened box with the wrong mounting nuts and bolts and no hook (obviously taken by the shop it was purchased from)

So I emailed milemarker and Keith sent me (airmail from the states) some new nuts and bolts. free of charge, no hassles he was very helpfull.

after fitting the thing I spoolled out all the cable to winch it back in under a light load and the hand controller shat itself and casued the winch to fire up without warning.

So another email off to the states outlining the problem and without seeing proof of purchase and without any trouble Keith offered to send out another hand controller. The box turned up today, with not one but two hand controllers as he wasn't sure which style I needed  . Not sure what the retail on a controller is or the special nuts and bolts or a new winch hook was. but it cost him US$40 to post the controllers over.

I had to tell you guys about this as I had a PITA experience with a local online store from brisbane, and my dealings with MileMaker who are anything but local was fantastic.

yeah he didn't palm me off to the local importer, which would have been fine I guess. It was great that he took the time to help me out.

Mile Markers aren't the best looking winch on the market. But they do work well. I've always used them. Never had any trouble.
