Hey all

Just thought id post some pics up of my new shute project. It a 82-83 MQ cab that i bought off a good bloke on here all painted ready to go for 1000$ Short chassie i had laying around.

To date I havent spent much at all on the old girl. Have turned the reare springs around to get a bit more base out of it. In doing this had to realign the pinion angle. Made up a new drag link from the pitman arm to the tie rod out of an old tie rod. Came up sweet.

Few issues with the SD33 turbo'd I have knew the heat exchange would have been full of crap. While the motor was out, pulled it off and it was FULL. chipped away all the dirt and sand and found the cover was close to corroded through. Hence now it is getting an air to oil cooler. This in itself is a task with this motor due to it being a full flow oil system (oil from filter and cooler goes straight to the engine not back to the sump.

Anyone looking at doing this converstion i will post pics and all info in reguards to the type and size of the cooler. I ended up using a small hydralic oil cooler with largepipe size 5/8 internal. This will allow enough flow for the engine.

Thanks again guys and a happy new year to all

ok so maybe im blind or something, but wtf is holding the chassis up if you have the front shackles off? it doesnt look like its resting on the springs...

nah i doubt it, the 'feet' sit out past the chassis line... might be a stand but if so i imagine it would be prety unstable... that and its only abit of angle...
