Trans Case Handbrake?

I really dislike having an in-effective handbrake, so I am looking for an alternative to the stock handbrake on my '84 LN65 Hilux. I know I can get a transfer case brake from <supplier not named> but I can't afford that.

Anyone know how I could fab up a home made version of a transfer case brake OR something equivalent??

Many thanks.

By the time you play around with it and get it to work it'd probably be best just to buy one. Another option maybe to disc the rear = better brakes and handbrake

If your running standard tyres your probably better fixing your standard brake set up,If your hand brake dosn`t work I doubt your rear brake are working.

Very cheap handbrake-

Drill a hole in your floor just above your inu behind the transfer, now get the biggest screw driver you got and put it through the floor and your uni, too easy :?
