Outer Limits 4x4 Board

have a 80 series 4.5 petrol the engine was replaced 65,000 k's ago
but when we leave it idle for few minutes then rev it it blows shit load
of smoke then its ok no smoke when driving,
been told its valve stem seals and wont get any change out of $2000
to fix.
has any one had same trouble or is it something else,

Definately sounds like valve stem seals, they've either gone hard or weren't replaced.

Yep valve stem seals.
They have gone in my 80 too and I have no intention of getting them fixed any time soon.

Just check that the PCV valve is ok, as this was a problem sucking oil fumes through....also, if you have valve saver and gas, thats another reason...

where is this?

Its the fitting in the end of the rocker cover breather hose.
