Mate has a 97 Pathy and is having issues with the front end.

He mentioned that it wanders when it hits a rough section of road.

Now I have never played with a Pathy but cause it is 4by related I have been asked the questions.

What needs to be done on the Pathy to bring the front end into line????? What should it cost him to have front end renewed suspension wise and who is the best person to take it to in the East Burbs of Melbourne?

what needs to be done to the ifs......gas axe

sorry couldnt resist, had many hours tinkering with pathy front ends, so im allowed to laugh

as far as what needs to be done, first of all i would be putting the front end up in the air and moving the wheels back and forth while looking for movement that probably shouldnt be there - in the steering and control arms.

something worthwhile mentioning is r50's are know for doing rear control arm bushings, it will give a wobble or shimmy. wouldnt hurt to stick your head under there & have a look

I had a similar prob and it was lower arm bushes that were worn out, you can go genuine nissan or a far cheaper and stronger arm, contact dave at playtime4x4 in sunbury, 03 97406300. He is the only bloke in melb do any aftermarket lower arms, big lifts, etc... he and i have done a LOT of custom work to mine and he was again the only 4x4 shop in melb interested in doing something not in a book.
You could also look at the front lower inner arm bushes, sometime the front diff mounts also were out and never get looked at.
I have spent the last 12 mths doing what i was be told by the big experts could not be done and have found very few that would spend the time to help when it came to a pathfinder. Start with someone that is willing to listen and willing to spend some to help your mate.
