Hi! Is it possible to fit 3.909 gears from 2.0 Petrol Fourtrak on solid axles to the IFS Fourtrak? This should compensate the overall ratio diffrence after putting in 33"
Another question: Solid axle Fourtrak is badly known for it's week CV's. Do an IFS version have the same problem?

I wouldnt suggest leaf sprung Rockys have weak CV's. I have a detriot locker in the front, have had for about 6 years or so, and only done 1 CV. And, no, my Rocky doesnt get treated like a pussy cat.

Thanks for reply! I heard a lot of people complaining about Rocky's CV's, but I'm glad to hear that's a myth

there is a lot of difference in strength and durability between the solid axle Rocky's and the IFS (F300) 1600cc petrol Rocky/Feroza's .. these are not as strong as the solid axle f70 diesel leaf sprung front Rocky's.
The IFS Roc/Fez will take a fair amount of punishment but they dont take kindly to going airbrone in the nose at full noise and coming down on hard surfaces with the wheels spinning, i know of a few members in our club that have broken CV's that way (one in a 94 Rocky and the other in a 91 Fez (both IFS 1600 petrol both on the same hill too ... to compensate for that I tend to back off at the apex of a hill ...so far so good

I don't reckon there's many CV's out there, if any, that like coming back to earth, full noise onto a hard surface
But if ones going to be stronger than the other it will be solid 110%. According to some onlookers, I've given mine a fair caning over the years, haven't busted a CV yet.

Once again: I'm asking about IFS Fourtrak, not Feroza/Sportrak.

And how it is about possibility of using diff ratios from solid axle version into newer version with IFS?

Ok, with regards diff ratios. my understanding is that diesel ratios are 3.3636, where as the petrol (2 litre 3Y 4 cyl) is 5.?????
I could be wrong.
