Most of the time my Feroza is down the back of the farm running over rough grass paddocks or on rutted rough muddy cattle races that requires more slow speed rather than traction, (with the rear LSD I have found that I rarely require the extra traction from the front). what i want to know is it safe to run the transfer case in 4wd LO range in 2wd? IE 4wdLO selected but free wheeling hubs not engaged?? and if so is it safe to do it for say 30% of the Fez's driving time?

it would save the wear and tear on the clutch having to constantly feather the clutch over the ruts if I could just run it in 2wdLO and save a lot of time and hassle getting in and out unlocking the hubs for highway driving. Important for me as I have limited mobility and getting in and out of the Fez is time consuming and painfull at the moment.

cheers Meece.

Yes, it is safe.

Obviously, on high traction surfaces it could lead to problems because the rear axle alone isn't designed for that much torque, but on grass etc it will be fine.
