i havn't used one but a mate had one for a while.

fairly poor 4wd as it has no low range, however its normal gearing is quite low to start with, a lot lower then hilux is so it revs the snot out of it at highway speeds. afaik uses surf style ADD. not sure if you could fit surf/hilux tranfer case in for low range.

a lot of the trademans like them for light 4wd use, however they do have higher running cost compared to 2WD.

i don't know about the later 3 litre turbo ones tho.

It really depends what you want to do 4wd or have the seating capacity if you want a 4wd van i'd prob look at like a mitsubishi just for the fact "I think" they were A austrailian car not a import i'm 3rd yr app mechanic and when i see one of these thats booked in i try avoid it if there is something wrong with it and i get stuck with it pull it apart for what needs to be done and hey the parts wrong and thats if you can get it at a decent price and even genuinne you may need to wait on some stuff. Workin on one the is just a pain in the ass honestly. Just some food for thought.
