The biggest problem I had was withy the power steering pump,
the standard V8 pump was hitting on the P/S box, had plates laser cut to mount a
V6 remote res pump on,

As PMed to Hoggy,
What can I say?, I did the conversion because the efi 6 was using as much fuel as a V8, and I own a 4wd workshop that sells Marks kits,
I did all the work myself (except the exhaust) and all the parts at trade price, had all the right tools on hand, It took 5 weeks from start to hearing it run, then another week before I could drive it,
Was getting 400km per tank - now getting 450km, compleatly differant car to drive, power differant, wouldn't say more power but has more torque, and can't beat the sound of a holden V8, don't want to work out the cost but guessing owes me around $6000-7000
I should have used a VN-VP computer as these don't hook up to the Holden auto,
VR- on, the auto runs off the engine comp,
If you do use a VR - on engine loom and comp, use a manual trans one.
I used a Vr Auto loom and computer and had to have the anti-theft (BCM)and Auto removed before it could be started, (read extra cost)

All this effort for an old cast iron donk, wouldn't it be a good idea to consider maybe a Gen III or a more modern motor ?

1uz lack the low down torque to push a big truck like an 80 hence why toyota made the 2 and 3uz for cruisers and there ameriocan 4bys
in a hilux on the other hand ........... hell yeah
it would be a bolt in swap using toyota bellhousings etc tho

And I'll go for holden anyday!!
The Holden EFI engine cost me $1000, parts are cheap and can be bought anywhere and there are plenty of aftermarket performance parts.
