Ok I have been noticing in my car a rather odd noise. It usually happens either when I stop the car and turn it off and I was noticing it the other day when in 4wd going along at slow speeds.

I will try my best to explain what it sounds like - so no laughing now. It is like a high pitched whine that starts off low and gets higher (sorry I am crap at explaining things) Do anyone know what it is? Or what it could be without hearing the noise?

Could be the Fuel pump, mine does it all the time...

Try this, turn your ignition on, but don't start the engine, for a few seconds the fuel pump should turn over...see if that's the noise your talking about.

The fuel pump is on the drivers side at the back wheel, above the chassis rail at the top of the arch there..

If that is it, I wouldn't worry about it, they are noisy buggers :D

If you haven't already got a name for your Feroza then you should call it "Christine"!!!

Does the noise happen when you're braking, stopped, accelerating, where does it seem to be coming from, was the A/C on, were you turning the steering wheel, etc etc??? Give as much info as possible. :)

My first thought is a drive belt slipping- especially given that you've just had work done in that area.

sorry couldn't resist.....

difficult to tell noises without hearing them. Try what Murray said, the fuel pump, otherwise, without hearing it........
