TPS 4.2EFI

My 4.2EFI does not feel good with small throttle inputs while on petrol. Otherwise it goes great on both lpg and petrol.

Just wondering if the TPS not being set right could be the cause as the owner b4 me never ran it on petreol and had to take off a bit of gear when he replaced the head and may not have put it back on correct.

Is there any way to test? How do i set it up right? Does it effect running on lpg at all? Mine is NOT an auto and i do not have a user manual.

Cheers

It can feel crap if not getting the idle signal, Nissan TPS has an idle and full load switch only on GQ, the variable resistor (if fitted with the extra loom) is for the auto transmission. Unplug and set the idle switch closed at idle and so it opens with small throttle input.

I hooked up a multimeter and it was showing .15v at idle (TPS) and it increased as i opened the throttle (seemed to be variable). What do i need to do now??

There are 2 connectors, one a direct plug and one a little loom that hangs off, you want the one that goes straight in to the plug(black), not the little loom(Grey). From memory the centre pin is common and the two others are idle and Wide open throttle.

Also look for air leaks, pour water in a controlled manner over the joint between the manifold and the head as this gasket fails with some regularity, as the vehicle is multipoint it dosen't run with a miss, it effects the overall mixture, makes it lean. Check the intake from the MAF to the throttle. Check vac hoses
