Is it possible to interchange rear seat on 88 Hilux.

Hi List
I have just bought a 4/88 Hilux 2.4D SR5 dual cab(LN56). I noticed that when the rugrats are in their booster seats they can hit their heads on the back window because there are no headrests.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to interchange the rear seat on a 1988 model Hilux with that of a later model say of a later 80s or a early 90s?. I cannot find a photo of the rear seat on the model after this so I don't even know if headrests were ever eventually designed into the rear seat. it could well be that the design of the seat and the back wall don't allow for headrests. Can anyone advise if it will be a technical nightmare to even attempt the seat conversion?
Thanks on advance for your input
Regards
Rob

Thanks high n mighty & spongerx for your reply.Appreciate you taking the time.Looks like the cab design just doesn't allow headrests until later. I will just have to go alot slower & put up with it until they are out of the boosters. Thanks again Guys.

Maybe stuff a bit of foam back there until they're bigger and dont need the booster seat? Not big enough to obstruct your vision of course but enough to protect their heads from hittin the glass.

That was my next suggestion failing any model having head rests, a couple of pieces of foam a couple of feet long and the width on a head rest and simply close the seat on em in their respective places

Thanks

Thanks again guys. Now I am wondering if someone like opposite lock would have aftermarket design that would bolt vertically between the floor pan and the roof.I feel that I have seen one somewhere.A strip of metal with a square cushion affixed at normal headhight.Maybe I am dreamin'.Maybe I am thinking of child restraint anchor points who knows.Quick...to the bat phone. mate, just wonderoing how old your rugrats are. My 4 1/2 yr old daughter doesn't have a booster seat in my single cab 86 lux. You can get a safety harness that looks a bit like a 5 point harness for them. that way you don't need to use the shoulder straps. Talk to RACQ or a child saftey seat fitter. Might offer other solutions too.

Thanks 4be

Hi 4be.Thanks for that. They are 8 and 6.The eldest ruggie is nearly, but not quite, tall enough to not need the booster. NSW law requires the booster until the ruggies reach a certain weight and height so that they sit up high and the strap doesn't take their head off .I'll keep digging and researching and by that time they will be 16 and the booster seat and headrests will be irrelevant:).
Thanks again
