Trouble removing injectors from 12-HT

Hi,

I've got a 12-HT that has done 160k and I run on WVO.

I am starting to get a slight miss at idle and want to have the injectors checked.

I have removed the return lines on top of the injectors and the supply lines to each injector. I have removed the two nuts on the guide bolts and I understood the injectors should just lift out.

I have sprayed some WD40 done around the rubber seal in the hope that will loosen the injectors and have also turned the motor over hoping the compression would loosen them. No luck.

They turn a fraction but are held in place by the guide bolts.

Any hints? Should I try some fuel conditioner or other different spray product around the injectors?

Thanks

Tim

The solution.

Once I had removed the rubber dust seals, I was able to turn a screwdriver on it's side and tap it in like a wedge. This released the injectors and they pulled straight out. Not the easiest job.

I'd also tried turning the motor over so the compression would pop them out, but no luck. Soaking them with Carbi Clean for 24 hours probably helped too.

On reinstallation I coated the injectors with Loctite Anti Seize, similar to Never-Seez to avoid problem next time.

Injectors cost around $100 each to have new tips installed, and calibrated.

Hope this helps someone else with the same problem
