You can go fancy and get a piece of 25mm steel laser cut with all the holes and scallops you need need then weld flanges on end and bolt to chassis or you can make one out of thick wall tube and bend it to suit or you can bend up a top hat profile out of 3mm , just depends on clearances , I used 32mm outside thick wall tube and bent hoops to miss front shaft and exhaust , Cheers Paul.

so mart, would 12 mm plate be too skinny? i dont know how mull feels about tubing it as it completely slipped both our minds. mitch, we can bend up some tube (ive got heaps and so do you) and plate it and stuff then ive got an idea for mounts to trans and chassis ;) i had a thought just then and drew a quick sketch

With the 25mm plate I mean't on edge , 12 would be too thin , you can solidly mount your crossmember to the gearbox and use rubber suspension bushes to mount to chassis or if your engine mounts are very flexible solidly mount the crossmember and you can use a suspension bush as a gearbox mount , or you can bush both if easier to fit , I used nissan patrol bushes , see how you go , Cheers Paul.

This is my crossmember , it has my middle link for the front suspension to attach to it.

Either both chassis mounts are solid , and gearbox mount flexible or both chassis mounts bushed and solid centre gearbox mount or a third combo , both chassis and gearbox mounts bushed/flexible , if you bolt through chassi you must use a crush tube ,this is weded through chassis to stop chassis from being compressed when you tighten the bolts , Cheers Paul

atm its the same as a highlux setup.
bolts to underside of the chassis, with bush in the middle.

Lookin at runnin a piece of 100x12mm with a notch takin out of it for d-shaft.
