Any tips or tricks to remove a bearing race from a steering knuckle that was put in the wrong way round (narrow end first) by a stupid home mechanic (me). There is 2/10th of bugger all to get a punch onto to knock it back out.

Run a weld around the inside of the race. This will shrink the race and will tap out easy. the weld will give ya something to hit against. Hope this helps.

Im guessing you have put the bearing on the pin upside down? Can you get the Arm or lower pin out of the Knuckle?

no, have put the race into the top swivel hub the wrong way round. Haven't touched the actual bearing.

Welder sounds like the go, or possibly a die grinder to cut the race

Can't get a slide hammer on it and work round it to pull it out. If not the welder does the trick, It's how i do the majority of them at work

Lol. I hate it when I do things like that. I am glad I wasnt in earshot when you worked out you had done that.
I reckon the slide hammer suggestion is the go. Or fab something similar to do the job.

Yeah if you Need the race then i wouldn't weld it obviously but if you only want to get it out weld away.
