Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi,

I can't decide which tyre I should go for :S

I drive a 1500 kg rig and want to buy new tires in 35x12,5x15.

I use my rig for driving to my work and back (40 miles a day) and heavy offroading in the weekends. (would like to get about 20000 > 25000 miles out of my tires)

In Holland we've got a lot of clay /mud/sand but absolutely no rocks

I don't want to swop my tires every weekend for road tires... (I'm to lazy and 'will "forget" to swop them back

But really like the Mudzilla/Creepy Crawler for the kind off terrain we;ve got here! BUt I think they will wear way to fast for my linking. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Else I probably should go with the General Grabbers MT (chicken offroad tire I think, but durable) The tires are about the same price here in Holland......

Hey Bowy, welcome to the site.

The maxxis range hasn't been out that long here in aus to develop a history on longevity, but in the short time they have been used on various rigs, those users have reported awesome results. I have also filmed them in direct comparison to other well known comp tyres and was amazed at the performance.

For a more accurate rating on them, pm Rolly on this site, he uses both maxxis tyres (mudzilla and krawlers) on his comp rig, and also sells them so he is right up there on the specs of these tyres.

This is an interesting reply in the Pirate thread you started about this topic

I do tire testing for Mickey thompson and they sued maxxis over the mudzilla. So say good buy to the mudzilla because maxxis lost the case and must pull the tire off the market. At sema maxxis still had it out and was forced to remove it from the floor.

always thought they were very similar in design;) . Might be worth grabbing a set if you can if they are cheaper than the claw

so whats the haps on the mudzilla
i heard that M/T took them to court and won
so the mudzilla has been taken off the market
is it true?????

no, they are still on the market.
don't know anything about maxxis being sued.
