Good luck with finding something. All of the manuals I know of are for US versions, and they are wired differently. The only wires that are universal are the headlight wires.

What is the problem you are having?

it go's along the line of..
just bought it.. got about 200mtrs from car yard and it died..
worked out buy jump starting it etc no charge..
thats ok, just a alti rebuild..
BUT when i look a little closer i had 11.2 V at the bat..
and the output on the altinator had something closer to 14V (corect charge rate)
so..
i took the original charge output wire off the altinator and ran a new one dirct to batery.. we then had charge BUT nothing elce worked, it ran but no electrics..
so i now have both the original wire and the new one i put in..
its working fine BUT i want to know why it isnt working.. the power output on the altinator looks to go into the cab?
some one has disconected everything that draws power (sterio, driving lights etc) so now i have to re wire everything tonight.. thought it may have made my life a bit easyer..

any ideas?

I am unclear, is it OK now or not?

As well as the wire (at the battery) from the alternator and to the starter motor, you need one to feed the fuse box. That of course runs in separate configurations. Direct from the battery ie headlights and via the ignition key, accessories etc. ie radio.
The only thing that I know of, that can go wrong, electrically and of major importance, is the headlight switch. They tend to melt the plastic risers and arc out, turning your head or parker light(s) on, even in the middle of the night. The Pathfinders don't have a relay for the headlights, so relay will fix this problem after the switch has either been fixed or replaced.

where are you located? Check out the statutory warranty guidelines in your state.

In QLD it is as follows:

Statutory warranty

Your statutory warranty guarantees that the warrantor repairs certain defects, discovered after buying the car, free of charge during the warranty period. Even if the motor dealer offers other types of warranties, you are still entitled to the statutory warranty at no cost.

You are NOT entitled to a warranty on some defects relating to:

tyres
battery
lights
radiator hoses
installed radios, tape and CD players
air bags
paintwork or upholstery that were obvious at the time of sale
any problems caused by your misuse or neglect eg. allowing the engine to run out of oil or water
the air conditioning unit in vehicles greater than 10 years old or more than 160,000km.

You will not receive a statutory warranty from a motor dealer or auctioneer if you are buying a motorbike, caravan, commercial vehicle, or a used vehicle being sold on consignment for a private seller.

A three-month or 5,000km warranty (whichever comes first) covers a used car with an odometer reading under 160,000km and manufactured less than 10 years before the sale date.

A one-month or 1,000km warranty (whichever comes first) covers a used car with an odometer reading above 160,000km or manufactured more than 10 years before the sale date.

You must report any defects in writing to the motor dealer during the warranty period and return the vehicle to the dealership or to a place of repair nominated by the dealer. The motor dealer must respond to your letter within five business days after receiving it, provided you have returned the vehicle. If you receive no response, you can assume the dealer has accepted responsibility to repair the car under the statutory warranty.

Try to resolve a complaint about the car's statutory warranty with the motor dealer through their complaint process first. Telephone or write to the motor dealer and explain the problem as soon as you can. If you can't resolve the dispute with the motor dealer you can contact Fair Trading, RACQ or MTA-Q to discuss your options.

Before the warranty expires, have a full mechanical inspection by an independent operator so any problems are identified during the warranty period.

If your vehicle requires repairs under statutory warranty, but it is located more than 200kms from the motor dealer/auctioneer it was purchased from at the time the defect notice is given, the vehicle is to be taken to the nearest qualified repairer. However, the motor dealer/auctioneer may prefer to nominate another qualified repairer, in which case, they are responsible for the delivery costs of transporting the vehicle to that repairer.

ah ha I have had that problem V6, cost $80 to have a new one put in. Now that you have said that i might go have a chat to an auto elec and see if he can put in a relay for me.

Thanks for the info (even though this post isn't relevant to the thread (my post not yours))

You only need one Steevo.

I had a very similar fault with my 91 terrano, it was corrosion in the octopus-like cluster of fusible links that plugs into the battery terminal.

Don't really know how handy, but i can poke about a bit and things seem to get done.

Don't really know much about electrical stuff, but always willing to learn.

i suppose i should do it, i've got a set "monza" driving lights sitting at home waiting to be wired in.
