Try Brown Davis in Bayswater, they can custom make a tank for you. (fuel or water)

It seems nobody has a long range Vitara tank. I spoke to Brown and Davis in Melbourne once and they said the guy who did all the zook tanks had left and they did not know what fitted what but if I dropped in they would be able to sort one out.

A long way from Melbourne, but you could PM ca18zook on this forum. have a look at this thread http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/phpBB2/vi ... highlight=

You could also try to ocntact him on this forum http://nbs4x4club.com. He is at Ipswich just outside of Brisbane... and seems to have made a few tanks since the thread above died.

Cheers

Any decent sheetmetal works (EG: someone that makes stainless pisstroughs) should be able to whip one up for you in a day if you give EXACT specs on shape and size.

ca18zook I think would probably halve your tank price, but you'd need to check with him.

If you have a SWB vitara, (which i think you do looking at your avatar) i think if you bodylift the car, you can fit a LWB vitara fuel tank under there replacing the current tank.

Wasy.

To get the LWB tank in, you'd need some modifications I think. I tried to fit a SWB tank guard to my LWB with no luck. It mounted onto the existing tank mounting brackets. I found the tank is longer front to back on the LWB, so the extra width in the chassis won't help you.

Some people lift the tank after a BL but it involves cutting off the existing mounts and rewelding them from memory.

$950 is waaaay too much for a fuel tank. ... Have you enquired at a sheetmetal works? (Someone who does Stainless pisstroughs). I bet it would be less than $950.

IT has been rolled and is quite rusty but it is a Vitara (92 2dr hardtop) for $950.. Sold now.. I missed out.
