Aftermarket Feroza Snorkel
Posted: Tue Jan 22, 2008 10:46 pm
Well guys and gals - its finally happened, an aftermarket snorkel for all Feroza's - not made from tube - this ones rotationally molded plastic, just like the factory ones.
Its certainly dearer than exhaust pipe or plastic plumbing fittings - but if you want that "factory" look and a quality finish.......
Thanks to Chris ( cj ) for passing on a contact name at AIRFLOW.
I rang AIRFLOW and instead of being fobbed off, the manager said to "come down to the factory and you can try all the samples to see what comes close..." Even at this stage was very happy.
Armed with the pics posted by Tzi ( thanks mate.... ) i visited them today and got even more than I hoped for.
After some experimentation we found one that was close, but like Tzi's pic didn't hug the A pillar very well. I was all set to pay up and go when they volunteered to rework it on the spot AND do the external install for me - as long as they could measure up the car.
A small notch at the back of the riser was cut out to move it into the correct position and then plastic welded back up. It's just visible if you look at the risers back - but so what ?
They took all the measurements for their installation templates etc etc so the snorkels can be supplied - ready to go.
Have to send them some pics of a standard air cleaner for carb and EFI as mines non standard ( of course... ). and I have a few small things to do like install the pillar bracket and snorkel hood but its close.
Soon as I tidy up the loose ends and can find the #$%^($ camera will take some pics.
So in the very near future you will be able to buy an AIRFLOW snorkel for a Feroza from the usual AIRFLOW stockists. It might not be on their catalog for a while - but dont' take NO for an answer - get them to ring AIRFLOW and ask for Michael.
Just can't speak too highly of AIRFLOW's service, absolute professionals.
