would someone with a 79 series cruiser be able to measure their rear spring length eye to eye following the curve of the spring and also the length from eye to axle centre.

thinking of putting 79 rears under my 75 as i want more length in the spring but i want to keep my axle pretty much where it is.

thanks Dan.

Why is it a waste of time troopymad? Too long for what? I don't think he expects it to fit in the existing spring shackle mounting position.

Dan - you will need to reposition your rear mounts for sure and probably the fronts too but I'm not sure about them. If you have a towbar fitted, you will need to relieve the outer side mounting plates to clear the spring shackle mounts. Not a big deal if you are handy with a grinder and welder. Just have it all G-clamped on and get your axle in position and tack it in place.
