Hilux Aisin FW Hubs on an 80. Spacer Q....

Hi all,
I just changed my axel and CV yesterday (after the CV went bang in Tassie and rooted the axel spline). After I had it all but together I was just testing to see if an old set of Hilux Aisin FWH I have would work on my 80. They fit and operated OK but the spline of the CV is longer on the 80 than the lux by about 5 - 6mm. This then gives that much float to the axel and CV.
Whilst it was apart I seperated the CV and axel and was testing to see if the axel needs the CV cliped to the axel as I have a air locker and found that the 5 - 6mm float the FWH would have would be just enough to make the axel go in the diff just far enough to fall off the axel seal, just.
So I am thinking that a spacer of sorts would be the go between the CV circlip and the inner part of the FWH.
Has anybody used hilux - early cruiser FWHs on a 80 and how did you eliminate the end float?
Cheers,
Alec
