For what it is worth, I have read that there are a number of different CT26 turbochargers. My understanding is they are the same housing but different turbines. I believe a number of petrol rice burner/boy racer cars have the CT26 standard from Toyota eg MR2 etc.
I will let others either confirm or tell me I am wrong about the turbines.

Correct Stuart. Dunno about MR2, think that was a smaller one. Supras, chasers etc had them, as well as numerous diesel models.
I've no idea what the precise model designation or specs for the 1HD-T though.

There are two exhaust turbine types, split pulse with 2 inlets from the motor to turbine, and single. the split one is from the gt4/mr2 2 litre motor, the single one is from all others, but there are three single hole a/r housings, hdt, hdft, and 7mgte, being the largest....the hdt is smallest and the turbine fan is smaller than the other two sizes, which share the same size turbine. Front compressers are smaller in the diesel and larger in the 7mgte, i put the larger 7m compresser on my hdft turbo....bolted straight on.
The latest ct26 for the hdfte has a 7m sized compresser and a hdt sized turbine and housing....more air quicker...

Hey Andrew
have you got any clues as to how you can identify the different housings?
