Jimny transfer case won't go into low range!!

Hi everyone,

I was wheeling on the weekend and my trip was cut short when my transfer case refused to go into low range.

I have a manual hub conversion and the vacuum hoses are blocked, I can switch in and out of 4wd but low just beeps at me and the light flashes.

I've looked the transfer case over and there is no external damage that I can see.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything I should be looking for in particular?

Brian

Does anyone know if a series one transfer case fits a series two jimny. The series one has a manual shifter!!

spend the time and put a sierra case in there. that way you could fit gears later. WT cases are cheap enough. and there has been a few people that have done this already.

There is a fitting kit on D&G Tunings site for 780 euro but it's a little more than I wanted to spend on something that may be able to be fixed for free.

But I have been thinking the same thing!!

series 1, & 2 , cases are the same its the series 3 (push button) that is a little different.

you can get gears for the jimny case (not sure if it fits your though) search and you will find the answer, i've posted it on here about 6 billion times.

to stop the beeping you are going to have to "trick" the computer into thinking that the hub have "gone in".

Hey Mitch, thanks for the reply.

I should have mentioned that low range has been working fine after the manual hub conversion (thanks to your advice a few weeks back) but it stopped working during a trip.
