Turbo into a Pajeo 1989 3L v6

hey guys,
i wanted put a a turbo into my Pajeo 1989 3L v6 NF but its done 380,000kms and it has had a full motor rebuild 80,000kms ago put i been told by some people it will work fine and i can change the extactors and full exhaught and will gte heaps better power and others say it will burn out the cylinders and wreak all my oil rings and stuff can ya guys please let me no how it will handle and how much more power i will get, and im putting 32" tyres and a 5.25 dif in it with dif lock so i want to have awsome 4wdin power how will this handle.
