Controll arm questions

With a 4 or 5 link system what does it do if the 4 arms are the same length?

How is a 4 or 5 link better than a 3 link that has 3 mounting points on the chassi but has 5 on the housing ( either top 2 or bottom 2 join on to controll arms say about half way down)

Oh and I know I could probly do a search and find some of the answer on either here or pirate, but I`m a lazy farker and posten is more fun then just reading :finger:

An "A framed' 3 link is essentially a triangulated 4link .. a 3 link is a factory patrol or crusier front end .. (two "distinct" arms and a panhard) a 4 link (or trinangulated 4 link"A"frame does not need a panhard) ..

A 3 link front is way easier to work with a "normal" steering system as it will (if properly set up) move from left to right at the same rate as the steering (panhard and draglink move in the same arc) where as a true 4 kink moves only in the horizontal plane so will most likley priduce losts of "bump steer" on a traditional steering system .. I am drunk .. :D .. but I think I am correct .. (could be wrong)

Love mud, I know all that (but thank you) oh and I don`t have standard steering :D
I just want to know

what a 4 link would do if all arms are the same lenght and the fors and againts of each setup.

Yes frekle has worked on my pos before but this is something I want to do myself and learn about as well. Plus its not the rear suspension that I keep having problems with its the front. Keeping the wright ride height, keeping good flex and the farken thing sitting level for more than 2 trips
As for liking the leafs for so long, it is more of a case of me having been able to do all the work on them myself and not (before now) being able to have the lux off the road for a long period of time as up untill about 18 months ago (just before the last TTC) it was still driven every day as it was my work truck.
